Introduction
Roswell’s annual UFO Festival is often described as attracting anything from a few thousand people to tens of thousands, leading many visitors to wonder whether the figures contradict one another. Those figures were substantially higher than most previous editions because 2022 was treated as a milestone anniversary with unusually extensive programming and promotion. Why the 2023 estimate was much lower

Rather than reproducing the large-scale anniversary programme, organisers shifted towards a smaller mix of free family entertainment, concerts, local partnerships and community activities.
